Chiron in Aries, Recital #1

Warriors opens Frédéric Gies' Chiron is Aries cycle by exploring the figure of the warrior and discussing the human's vulnerability, will and resilience.

Inspired by mythology and astrology, four dancers perform to music by techno DJ and producer Fiedel. In intense solos to the techno beat they express an assertive and sheer force of will and a bold desire to resist.

The name Chiron in Aries refers to both the mythology and astrology. But Warriors: Chiron in Aries, Recital #1 is neither about astrology nor about mythology. It uses these ideas as symbolic frameworks for making dance. On stage the four dancers channel the figure of the warrior to expose unutterable wounds and a dance that expresses both vulnerability and resilience.
